You will love it!

After one bite, you'll easily fall in love with these mini apple cinnamon donuts. The bite-sized treats double up in the apple flavor with both the batter and the topping. The applesauce not only adds to the flavor but keeps the mini donuts fluffy and moist.

Chef Tosca Tip

Don't overmix the donut batter. Overmixing the batter can cause the donuts to dry out easily in the oven.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 75g flour all purpose
  • 4g baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 190g apple sauce
  • 50g maple syrup
  • 15g olive oil

Topping:

  • Maple syrup
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • 1 large apple or 2 small ones
  • Vegan butter or oil

method

  1. Preheat oven at 180°C
  2. Mix all dry ingredients together then all wet ingredients
  3. Pour wet ingredients in dry ingredients and whisk until smooth
  4. Pour the batter in mini donut molds. I used a piping bag but you can also do it carefully with a spoon
  5. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Prick a donut with a toothpick : if it comes out clean then they are ready
  6. While the donuts are baking, peel and dice apples then stir fry them in vegan butter / oil and a bit of maple syrup until they turn golden / brown
  7. Dip the baked donuts in maple syrup, then in a mix of cinnamon and sugar (ratio 1:1) and top them with the diced apples
